Local Cloud using Hadoop System

Project  Name :      Local Cloud using Hadoop System

Student Name :    Ahmed Abu Aziz

                                         Waleed Abu Dalal

Tools Requirement :

  1. VMware Workstation 8.0.0 build-471780
  2. Hadoop 1.0.X
  3. CentOS 6.3
  4. Ubuntu 12

Project  Overview :

Users today are increasingly demanding support for complex Big Data analytics that go beyond traditional relational algebra operations: they need to process unusual data types (e.g., text, images, videos, arrays, and graphs), apply sophisticated statistical models, and adapt specialized domain-specific techniques.

Apache Hadoop is an open-source software framework that supports data-intensive applications. It supports the running of applications on large clusters of commodity hardware.

Hadoop provide the environment establishing cloud services, and processing of Big Data. Some Institutions are not prepared for using public cloud for several reasons, such as Internet speed and restrictions of the cloud service providers. This makes us to think in local cloud solutions.

Idea Of Project :

Our project is to use Hadoop as an operator of private local cloud. We will take Islamic University Gaza as a case study.
